On another note, Ron and Harry both display an astonishing level of disrespect for Snape as a *teacher* throughout the books. They go on about how unfair he is, but by their own admissions, they don't pay attention in class, they misbehave, at one point in GoF they yell obscenities at him.
Well, I sort of think that Harry and Ron wouldn't behave as bad as they do in Snape's class if Snape hadn't started bullying Harry from day one. Respect's a two-way street, and Snape never gave any to Harry (well, he was getting a bit better in the Occlumency lessons), so I'm not surprised he doesn't get any back. IMHO, anyways. And while Snape may be my favorite character (one who I sympathize with quite a lot), I still think he damn well deserved a few swear words thrown at him for his "I see no difference" comment. That was just cruel.
Though I do agree that Harry throwing that firecracker was an awful thing to do, no matter what his intentions were.
Goyle made the potion correctly; perhaps he's less incompetent then we're led to believe. Does anyone know if it's Crabbe or Goyle who's cauldron explodes in one of the other books? If it's Crabbe's, then that could be evidence that Goyle has more talent then previously thought.
