Thanks so much for re-posting a link to this. I really liked it. The seductions were nicely done, but (maybe oddly) what really hit me were two other things -- first the way Cedric just irrationally, irrepressibly sabotages things with Krum, with his comment about "dealing with the competition." It's just gratuitous human messiness asserting itself and it's the thing that most strongly makes Cedric come alive. And then, after that, of course, the ending -- it's just a punch in the gut to think about his death when he's just been laid bare in all his confusion and vulnerability and Cedric-ness. OK I am not wildly articulate tonight, but, bravo!
