Well, incestuous subtext which has now been explicitly disavowed as canon, but the creators also freely acknowledge the subtext and play with it.

But yeah. X-Files, with the freak-of-the-week initial structure, with "Apocalypse" subbed in for "conspiracy," and a '67 Impala instead of a government-issue Taurus, and a classic rock soundtrack.
