Did one of my old fics get recced somewhere recently? Some fannish-looking people randomly friended me all of a sudden. Hello! Let us party like it's 2005!

/cough/ i probably should have said something when I did that. XD Meant to, I'm sure.

/waves a little/ In my case, nothing to do with fandom. A mutual friend, Tenebris, linked me to you as you have some awesome stuff up on conlang and I've been getting into that. Sorry!

Heh, I "retired" from fanfic recently, and then got two new readers.

Oh, don't be sorry, I don't mind being randomly friended (it used to happen a lot more when I was active in fandom). I was just surprised by a sudden flurry of friendings!

I've actually been doing loads of conlanging lately. I usually post stuff at a conlanging forum, but I should post here too. I always forget that there are LJ people who are interested.

There are a few. The biggest, and the one I post to most often, is the zompist bboard. It's very active and there are tons of knowledgeable people who are willing to give feedback on practically any linguistic (or other) topic you can name, but moderation tends to be rather light so things can get rough-and-tumble, especially if you venture into the off-topic sections or stumble into a grudgewank between regulars. But I stay because I've been there from day one, and there *is* a lot of really useful discussion. I also sometimes go to the conlanger bboard, which is an offshoot of the ZBB and has some of the same people, but is less active and more strictly moderated. My name on both of them is eodrakken.

wow. I've been going to Zompist.com for about a year, now, and I hadn't realized there was a forum. Some bright cracker I am. XD Thank you so much for the links (and tips)! I'll definitely have to check them out :D
