The joy of self-pimpage.

Like [livejournal.com profile] fluffyllama, I haven't been reading very much fic lately. I can't speak for Llama, but my excuse is that it's very hot here and I've been too lazy to do much of anything.

So: Rec me one of your fics. It can be your favorite, or one you think I missed, or one you don't think received as much attention as it deserved. I'll read it and leave feedback.

I don't have to know you. It doesn't have to be within my preferred genres/pairings. Horizon expansion is good! All I ask is that it not be too long (no novels, please), and be in a fandom I know.

Don't be shy. Plug away!

Fun idea! This seemed like something you might like - it's PotC, Jack and Bootstrap friendship and Jack/Black Pearl - Forsaking All Others.

Well, there's my one and only Snapefic (written pre-OotP), Invisible (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/1266285/1/). (link to The Pit, as I just realized I never put it on Humongous Bighead).

Huh. I've got two stories of mine that I like, so I'll go with the one that didn't receive much attention. Whether it's because of the writing, the plot, or just bad luck, I don't know.

Title: Seven Portraits of Percy Weasley
URL: http://www.livejournal.com/users/alice_and_lain/101094.html
Summary: "My reflection chatters to me about my dreams and desires and destiny, about destruction of those who have broken the law, the delirium of my family and the so-called Order, the incontrovertible death of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named." Crossover with Neil Gaiman's Sandman, although you don't have to be overly familiar with it to enjoy the story.

And you don't have to leave feedback, if you don't want to. Just having the story read is enough for me.

Hi! I thought you might like this as someone who understands the soul-numbing properties of work.

Moaning Myrtle, Ministry of Magic, 740 words.

This feels so plebey, but hows about Skin Memory (http://www.livejournal.com/users/glitterdemon/408243.html)?

All right. :)
Some Dung-ish humour, perhaps? Do you like comics...?

Hope you like it!

Is ten chapters too long? "Nemesis" here sets up the Percy/Oliver situation I alluded to in "Everything Possible," which I know you read.

Or, if that's too long, And Then You Kissed Me sets up "Nemesis."

See my devious attention-whoring... perhaps if you like the short one you'll read the longer one...

My only HP fic, written before OotP... Snake in the Grass (http://www.thedarkarts.org/authors/a/SITG.html).

Um, this makes me squirm in a vaguely guilty way. But, 'Love's Mysteries (http://www.skyehawke.com/archive/story.php?no=1448)'.

Ahaha, oh dear. Anything, anything really. I suppose Cartography (http://www.livejournal.com/users/pogrebin/44343.html), which is Padma/Hermione, post-apocalyptic fic where magic has been twisted...or http://www.livejournal.com/users/pogrebin/42385.html (http://www.livejournal.com/users/pogrebin/42385.html) arise on the ruins, minerva/tom with a generous helping of bertrand russel? :)

I don't have to know you. i hope you don't mind that i took you at your word - i've been a lurker around here for a while now and thought i would rec you one of my fics as per your request! i've only written four fics (hp fandom), so here's the one i'm most proud of - Definitions (http://www.livejournal.com/users/gracefulfool/17632.html).

Games, a gen fic with Snape and Albus and a large heaping of Jerzy Kosinksky.

Okay. Memory. (http://www.skyehawke.com/archive/story.php?no=1326) Draco Malfoy/Cedric Diggory. I wrote this quite a long time ago so it's not exactly my best but I'm still rather proud of it.

I can't resist!

It feels like I'm obligating you to read/comment, but since you offered, I would love to know your opinion of The Devil is a Liar. (Also on hp.pfen.net) Looking back, there are some things I'd do differently, but I'm really pleased with how the characterizations turned out. I was also going for a hot-yet-realistic sexual encounter, and I think (hope!) I managed that as well.

I don't write much. A bit of RPS, a drabble, and this. It's implied H/D, so I can't promise you'll like it, but I'm pretty proud of it.
