Ah! Substitute!

I want you all to know that [livejournal.com profile] keladryb can tie the stem of a cherry in a knot with her tongue.

So, it turns out that I'm too freaked out about the election tomorrow to do much of anything but sit here and pray (and I'm not even religious). But, not wanting to deprive you of your regularly scheduled CoS rambling, here are a couple of current CoS discussions around the fandom:

[livejournal.com profile] copperbadge ranted about CoS's giant plot holes, with an emphasis on what the hell was going on with Lucius and the diary. [ETA: My favorite part is [livejournal.com profile] mctabby's idea that Lucius meant to give the diary to Lockhart!]

Then [livejournal.com profile] threeoranges did so as well, with an emphasis on what the hell was going on with the Basilisk.

I don't always agree with Michael Moore, but I found his blog today pretty uplifting. I'm with him.

What's the mood in the East Bay? Fearful? Hopeful? It feels like San Francisco is holding its breath. Or maybe that's just me...

BTW, I used to be able to tie a cherry stem into a knot with my tongue, but only when intoxicated.

I'd say the mood is jittery. Everyone I've talked to is anxious, can't resign themselves one way or the other. "Kerry HAS to win, because of this and this... but what if he doesn't?" seems to be the primary sentiment, accompanied by wood-knocking and fingernail-biting and such. One of my co-workers called today just to have that conversation... "What if Bush wins? What are we gonna do? But he won't, will he? He can't..."

I think people feel helpless, unsettled. There's very little more we can do but wait.

Just remember there are people all over the world praying right along side you.

I can do that. If they're long enough, I can tie two stems into a square knot.

I'll certainly be very disappointed if President Bush is re-elected, but I try not to spend too much time worrying about things I have no control over. At any rate, I remain cautiously optimistic.

Check out Ursula Vernon's Ection Prayers. She's great. That reminds me, new Digger today! *hurries off*

Whoops, I forgot which 'e' I was on, "Election Prayers".

Everyone here is pretty freaked out too - this really is an extremely important election... My TV is on and will stay on for a while... *crosses fingers* Let's hope for the best.
