Fandom dreams.

Last night I dreamed I was reading book 6. I have a feeling this isn't the first time I've dreamed this, but this is the first time I've remembered any details.

There was a creature introduced called... a Hezom, or Bezom, something like that. It could change its shape into any animal at will, and was sort of pastel-colored. Some nefarious character in the book was keeping one as a sex slave.

Certain words in the text were different colors. Not in any pattern I can remember, just random words. Every ten words or so, a word would be pink. More occasionally, a word would be peach-colored.

About halfway through the book, the plot drifted off to follow a character who was trying to start a pickup basketball game with two of his friends and three Australian aborigines.

I do not know who the half-blood prince was.

It's not at all unusual for me to have fandom-related dreams. Sometimes about me doing something fannish, sometimes with fandom-related characters involved in the plot. How about you? Come, let us gaze into the fannish subconscious... *beckons*

The week they announced the release date for OotP, I dreamed that the devil offered me the galleys-- but the condition for keeping my soul was that I couldn't speak about the book, to anyone, until June 21.

I said no. I knew it would be impossible, and not actually that much fun.

This is the only time I have ever dreamt about being tempted by Satan.

Good one! Ah, Satan. He knows how it is.

I think at OotP-advent, I wasn't invested enough yet to dream about it.

I know I dreamed about HBP last night, but I can't remember any details.

Ooh. We must share a brain. ^_^

[identity profile] timba.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I had a dream once that I shared a body with Harry. It was kinda freakish. He was fighting Voldemort, and all of a sudden, *I* am. Except that I'm not a wizard.

Then, after V. knocks me(us?) down, we are saved by penguins.

*shrugs* My brain is with the crazy.

And then did you/he become a Batman villain? :)

Well, I did once read an entire Lois McMasters Bujold novel in my dreams. It was really good, the best one yet, and I really loved it. Then I woke up and realized that I didn't know what the #^@#*& the story had been about and that Bujold hadn't had *time* to write that wonderful novel, because her latest book had only come out a month before.

My subconcious likes this sort of dream, because it's happened with other books and graphic novel series I've been following.

I have dreams about reading fairly often. Once I dreamed that [livejournal.com profile] lizbee had written a really awesome Peter fic, but of course when I woke up I barely remembered it.

Yesterday morning my alarm was going off and I was having a dream of chibi style cartoon charaters. They were singing a song in which the only lyric was "Ron" over and over. I assume it was about Ron Weasley, but he was nowhere in sight, only unrecognizable chibi choir.

I've had great dreams about episodes of WW and DS9 that never happened...

Actually, I once had a WW dream too. It was partly WW and partly election coverage (which was real in the context of the dream).

Yeah...fandom dreaming...

I posted a disjointed recap of my disjointed SV/X-Men dream here. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/madmartigan_1/5597.html)

I'm sure I had a SV dream recently, but now I can't remember it. I need to start writing my dreams down every day again.

I had a Snape/Lupin mpreg (http://www.livejournal.com/users/annecatherine/97654.html) dream. I think fandom/fanon is getting to me. *g*

Ooh, I had an mpreg dream too! I dreamed I was pregnant, and the baby housed the reincarnated soul of my cat (who had died in the dream). Hmm.

My dreams are often fandom related. I've had three seperate dreams where the HP book was published and it was crap (I dreamed before PoA was published that it was called Harry Potter and the Devil's Snare and it was dreadful. I dreamed before GoF that it was dreadful and I cried. I dreamed that OotP was published with a blue cover and Harry swimming underwater but I never got to read it. And I seem to recall a recent dream where HBP was rubbish) I had an AMAZING dream last year where I was watching the film of GoF and the ending was nothing like the book at all but it was BRILLIANT. I had a look back through my LJ but I'm bored now and too tired to keep looking so I can't be bothered typing it all out but it was so, so cool. While looking, I also spotted a dream about the film of OotP where there was mudwrestling. :) I have a vague memory of a Remus/Harry/Snape dream. There was also a really disturbing Bill/Ginny dream which I still pretend I never had. There have been other slashly dreams. Then of course, there is the actual reason I am IN the HP fandom - the dream where HArry and Lucius were on the Hogwarts train and Lucius kissed Harry. Without that dream, I probably wouldn't be here now! :)

And that's only the HP dreams. If we try for all the rest, we'll be here all night!

I love my dreams sometimes. Of course, other times, they suck. Mind you, sometimes I worry about what these say about me ...

I'm very fond of dreams.

I had a dream a few months ago that I was at the GoF movie, and I remember enjoying it, but not anything else about it.

[identity profile] impinc.livejournal.com 2005-05-19 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, before OotP I had a dream I was reading it, but it was really short and completely incomprehensible. I had to shake myself when I woke up.

Anxiety dreams about new HP books seem to be fairly common!

I had a dream sort of like [livejournal.com profile] lexboo where It began with me watching Harry, his parents, Sirius, and Dumbledore from a third person perspective, but it transformed to me being Harry. ...The setting was a college campus I visit every summer, and Dumbledore turned into Voldermort and had this really hideous looking dead baby in his arms. Everyone jumped into cars (in which the setting mysteriously turned into the front yard of my highschool) and speed away as Voldermort laughed evily.

I couldn't get to sleep for an hour after I woke up from that nightmare.

I have this weird semi-reoccuring dream (same idea happens in different ways. like a tv show but with no cohesion between episodes) where I actually get SUCKED INTO the computer. and lj is a big city with TRAMS and I wander around and occasionally bump into people I recognise. I know who everyone is because they have arrows hoving over their head (sim-like) with their lj name and default pic. i don't really know what i imagined everyone to look like, it's more the idea of them being there.

once I stumbled upon this great big victorian cathedral and i can't remember the exact details but i'm pretty sure it was the fandom touch-base place with all the slashers. and the daily_snitch was a giant skyscraper. and and and TRAMS.

yeah.

That's really cool! I often have dreams about checking LJ or talking to people on AIM, but they tend to stay very literal and realistic. I also sometimes dream about meeting people IRL who I only know online.

I had a fandom dream last week, and it was horrible. Remus had AIDS, and he was dying. It was so desolate and sad, he'd lost everyone and had nothing left.
There was some kind of weird setting, near a beach, and there was a very very large whale in the ocean, visible from the beach. When I say large, it's back was almost at surface level, and it was almost as long as the stretch of beach. And the Marauders (except Peter for some reason; I'm constantly annoyed at people who dismiss Peter or leave him out of Marauder-era fics, and apparently my subconscious is against me) were in their late teens, and Lily was a lot younger, like 14-15 ish. There were bombs hitting the building, or something attacking them from outside, and James and Lily and Sirius all died or disappeared, one by one. And there was no-one left but poor Remus, who got old, made some more friends who all died, and then died himself.
It was all very nostalgic and wistful; the colours were all muted and soft. It was like a very fond memory of a familiar place, until people started dying left right and centre.

Hm, that sounds like it could be the starting-point for a really good story...
