my brain is good at entertaining me

This morning I dreamed that I was at a performance of The Mikado where Nanki-Poo was played by Paul Reubens (yes, Pee-Wee, but not as that character), but he couldn't sing so he was playing all his songs on a violin.

I was enjoying the hell out of this, and when I woke up, it was with an annoyed sense of Hey, I was watching that!

I have this problem on a regular basis — my dreams come up with something awesome, but I can only watch it once. :P

Do you ever have that dream where you find a bookstore that is filled with all the books you've ever wanted to read--sequels to favorite books, new books by your favorite author, novel series that are like fanfiction of all your favorite media? And then you wake up and bah. (Sometimes the dream is that you can see through the windows into the inside and see all these great things, but you can't find the door to go in!)

ALL THE TIME. The worst is when I know it's a dream (I have lucid dreams regularly) but in my dreams I'm so damn stupid, I'll be trying to read one of these amazing books that doesn't exist, and I'll think, "Man, I really want to read this, but reading in dreams is so hard! I'll just read it after I wake up."
