I am trying to be charitable to JKR because I know that we are dealing with a WIP. And yet... she is on book 5 of 7. She's had ample opportunity to provide more depth. Perhaps she feels that Harry was not emotionally mature enough yet to handle some of the larger issues that she's raised. We'll see.
