And OMG only three days until more Venture Bros. Anyone else watch this show? I've been a fan since the first season but I feel like I might have posted about it... never?? It's one of those things where I love it almost too much to write fic. After an episode I just sit there like, welp, I sure can't write any better than that, so...

Anyway, I wrote a bit less this year than last year, but I feel good about the quality of most of it, and there were several things that I'd wanted to write for a long time but the right opportunity hadn't come up before. (Yay, I finally got to write Guinan/Ro!) I was especially proud of Two Can Keep a Secret, and apparently others liked it too because it seems it won its category in hpfanficfanpoll. Awards can only be taken seriously up to a point, since of course they are subjective, but I do thank those who took the time to nominate or vote for my story, and congratulate everyone who was in the running. :)

I think 2015 is going to be awesome. No reason really, just a feeling.

Well I kept the same job for an entire calendar year, which is more than a lot of people can say, unfortunately. Almost everyone I know, their place of work has had substantial layoffs.

In 2009 I plan to do the following things:

-write more fiction
-paint more pictures
-cook more food
-conlang more... conlangs
-visit _hannelore
-sever my ties to this area (particularly a)ensure my brother is sufficiently independent and b)liquidate my interest in this house) so I'm able to leave here and go live with _hannelore and her son
-oh yeah, and lern 2 be a good stepdad... soon.

...some of these things might be more challenging than others?

I was looking through my old LJ entries seeing what sorts of things I had posted on past Christmases. Holy crap, I used to be funny. I mean predictions for 2005, that was gold. I'm sure I'm not that funny anymore.

I also found that I wrote a fandom year in review post for 2005, which I imply that everyone else was doing, but I don't remember it at all. I am now going to review 2007 for no reason. Well really, so that I can look back on it and remember all this shit next year.

Plans for 2008... continue to progress as far as we can before it all starts over again. Then shed our epics for level 71 greens and break the dynamic spawn rate in Northrend.

Also I need a new planner! I love the one I have, and it is so sad that I must part with it. I can never find the exact same kind of planner the next year.

The title of this post, by the way, derives from a guildmate attempting to reference the saying "capslock is cruise control for cool", and managing instead to say:



This cracked me up so much I had to screenshot it, and then while looking through my screenies couldn't figure out why I had taken a picture of us just standing around rebuffing.

I know everyone else has done this already, but I had to wait until I could actually claim everything I wrote in 2005 as mine. I had an extremely eventful year, fandom-wise, so I went month by month and talked about all the stuff I did. Is this interesting only to me? Quite possibly!

So, that's seven fics, seven ficlets, one poem, and one award in a fandom I'm not in. Surely this was a successful year by most standards.
