But no, it doesn't quite solve my problem -- which is that she isn't given the title of "Auror", and in fact isn't even called by name -- just "Frank Longbottom's wife". But then, as the other comments here say -- it looks like it was just retconning on JKR's part -- at this point she was not, in fact, an Auror.
