PS post-script.
Feb. 12th, 2005 05:10 pmDiscussion continues in Chapter 17 and elsewhere -- and don't let me stop you -- but the Philosopher's Stone re-read is at an end. LJ memories are still borked, but when they're not, the whole thing will be here.
The boa constrictor from Chapter 2 says obrigado, and I say THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the discussion. Without you, I am but a crazed loner feverishly typing his conspiracy theories into the ether.
Overall, I enjoyed doing this one more than CoS (though perhaps not as much as PoA). Despite the heavy reliance on Dumbledore as a deus ex machina, it's a livelier and less depressing/frustrating read than CoS. It seems fairly clear that Dumbledore is testing Harry in these first two books, in at least some sense -- testing his innate abilities in PS, and testing his loyalty to Dumbledore's cause in CoS. Of course, Harry is also testing himself, and gaining confidence he will need later on.
I do still want to cover GoF and OotP in some way, though I'm not sure when. They're long, man.
