Fandom and paid accounts, part deux.
Mar. 19th, 2005 10:20 pmA few days ago I put up this poll, asking what paid LJ features folks were using. 80% of respondents said they have a paid account (with or without extra paid features). Not all the respondents were fandom people, but almost all.
According to the LJ stats page, 1.5% of the of the 6,482,994 existing accounts are paid. Of course, many accounts are doubles, sockpuppets, abandoned, etc., so look at accounts updated in the past 30 days. There are 1,510,528 of them. There are 98,436 paid accounts. That's 6.5%.
It may be an exaggeration to say that fandom keeps LJ in business, but we do pay far more than our statistical share.
On a marginally related note, wanna know who *really* uses LJ? Ever play with the random user tool?
