Anyone who has been lamenting the lack of good HBP fic? Here it is. Snape is in character. Draco is in character (and how often does that happen, honestly?). It's a slow burn, deep inside Snape's head, and you come away certain that this is what was going on behind the scenes.

It might take another writer an entire novel to paint such a compelling and stylish picture of the post-war world. It's a film noir dystopia with dark beaches and midnight meetings and liquid-shiny handguns, and leaves you wanting more in a wonderful way.

This fic does what it does very beautifully and quietly, but with the confidence never to pull punches. I was left gasping. Not to mention desperate to know WHO managed to write such a thing. Don't blink while you're reading this, you might miss something. When Sirius wakes up, he is dead, and the first thing he sees is James.
