well, that sucked

I caught some kind of flu/cold thing and was really sick for a week straight. I'm still coughing and sniffling but at least able to get out of bed!

My hp_beholder is finally done, though I had to ask for an extension. Besides being sick, it was also just a tough one to get written, and not for lack of trying or spending time on it. It wasn't because of the prompt (actually my recipient asked for pretty much exactly what I had in mind when I offered those characters), but for some reason it was just hard to get into the zone on it. Fortunately I have a pretty clear outline of what I want to do for rarewomen, so hopefully that one won't be as teeth-pully to get finished.

Here's something — my dad and stepmom are going on a two week vacation this summer to Tanzania, and we get to house-sit for them. This is a good thing because I haven't been able to visit CA since I moved away, and they have a pretty sweet place within walking distance of the beach. We're gonna be flat broke after plane tickets are paid for, but oh well, what's money if you don't spend it on something nice once in a while?
