Malograntum points me to this:

Pentagon to contribute $1 million for tour of military bases by Shakespeare's 'Macbeth'

She further remarks: "I personally would have gone with, I don't know, HENRY THE FIFTH or something?"

What a world.

She is so right.

Except that Henry V ends wih a uniting of two kingdoms through marriage. That implies family and the bending of pride, and that is certainly not going on here.

Otoh, I envy that Lady Macbeth. What a gig!

They could have anything in Shakespeare's collected works, and they chose MACBETH? The play about revolting against an illegitimate king?

That is *beyond* Freudian there...

But then again, no one has ever accused the current administration of being intelligent.

Oy VAY.

The problem with Shakespeare invading *everything* is that so many people just kind of....I don't know, miss the point?

Macbeth. For military bases.

I say again, oy.
