chresimos has hatted me once more! Lo, I am gr8ly hatted.
-asphodeline, we got your package! Yay! We had to consult a dictionary to find out what sultanas were before we were willing to eat the cakes with them in, but it turned out all right. ^_^ Also, I was never sure exactly what a tea towel was until now, except that Kreacher wore one -- but I doubt his is as cool as mine!
Today a fellow namedmightygodking brought some very nice Gotham Knights scans to scans_daily. But before he was comfortable sharing them, he felt the need to write a lengthy (for this comm) preface entitled Thoughts on Bat-slash, from a purist. In the course of it, he compares slash to inane playground humor and to Hee Haw ("that is their thing and they are welcome to it"), compares slashers to "Mormons on crack", and pleads for this fine example of graphic literature to be viewed and interpreted with due "gravitas" because it "deserves a straight (no pun intended) read". Quick investigation reveals that one of this fellow's LJ interests is hating slash.
No one seems to have gotten their knickers in a twist over this yet, despite the fact that the comm is for scanning and squeeing, not forwanking discussion, and that "bashing other 'ships or fandoms" is explicitly against community rules. But while we're waiting, I direct your attention to this sentence:
