aimless whinging and a GIP
Jul. 2nd, 2003 07:21 pmI've been using the James icon for HP posts, but I like this one much better.
I had to schlep all the way over to San Leandro to pick up my UK copy of OotP yesterday. The delivery service claimed to have attempted to deliver it three times, but I only ever got one failed-delivery notice. They also claimed that one of these alleged failed deliveries occurred at a time that I know I was, in fact, at home. Jerks. I was still excited to get the book, though, which is pretty pathetic considering that I've already read the thing. :P
I have some things to say about the parallels between Snape and Sirius, and also about Neville, but I think I'll re-read at least part of the book to get my thoughts in order first. So, actual content may be coming soon.

Date: 2003-07-03 12:04 am (UTC)On the plus (or maybe minus?) side, while I was on the train down there, I was moved to write a dirty little OriginalFic!Mary Sue about a starving student who hitches a ride with a handsome UPS driver and ends up having hot gay sex with him by the side of the road.
We all deal with frustration in our own special way.

Date: 2003-07-03 09:33 pm (UTC)And double thanks -- the James icon is actually from one of my own paintings, though a pretty old one. I don't think it had any particular meaning at the time, but I came across it recently and said, "Huh. That's James."
Here's the painting.
