And just in case I'm not #16, I'm going to embarrass myself more by writing a bit on why I think I'm #16.
When I started in the fandom, it was kind of my life. I was out of work and unable to work due to a back injury. Fandom kept me sane and that was why I started my LJ. When I went back to work full-time in March, 2003, I found I wanted to write about all different aspects of my life, writing and fandom and YA literature and whatever random observations I had. As I talk more about YA lit, I get friended my more YA lit types and am seen as "Cedar the YA librarian" rather than "Cedar the fandomer who can't make up her mind as to who she wants to write about. Being my terrible self, I feel this need to keep up my YA lit appearances, and knowing that professional lit types read my journal and friended it so they could read my thoughts on YA lit, I'm almost a little embarrassed to write about my fandom involvement, which is completely ridiculous of me to think. If they want to know that I write slash (and gen! and femmeslash!) all they have to do is follow the link in my userinfo. I don't know why I get my panties in a wad over these things, but that's why I don't post as much fandom stuff, or tend to post it behind a cut tag. I still love being involved with fandom and should post about it more. And write more.
