Highlights from Chapter 22:
-Kids, cats, cons, knaves, how many lives did Harry save?
-More on the Order of Merlin
-Why didn't Dumbledore do more to protect Sirius? (more of an OotP question)

Well, folks, the re-read is at an end. THANK YOU to everyone who participated, and made this such an insightful and delightful venture. All the re-read posts are saved in memories here. Continuing old discussions is perfectly all right.
Doing this project has only confirmed my love for the book, noticing again how all the threads come together to form what is, for the most part, a very tightly-plotted novel. There's hardly any waste in PoA, and as a writer, I really admire that.
Any other thoughts about the book as a whole? Anyone have some opinions changed? Anything surprising you realized or considered?
(If you have thoughts on the book as it relates to the movie -- and I know some of you have already seen it -- PLEASE keep them to yourself for now. I haven't seen the movie yet, and when I do, I'm sure I'll do a book-vs-movie post. I don't want the movie spoiled, and I'm sure a lot of my American friends don't either.)
I do want to do re-reads of the other books, but... not right away. As fun as it was, the re-read was very time-consuming, and I need a break! Right now I'm leaning towards doing CoS next, but that could change. So, have a poll, just to gauge interest:
[Poll #301977]
But for the moment... my god, now I can actually post about other things. *boggles*

Date: 2004-06-01 04:12 pm (UTC)It's been really entertaining as well as thought-provoking and hearing another's point of view very revealing. I've read it several times (it's still my favourite overall) and didn't see a lot that was strikingly new but it's given me an idea of how to re-read others and what sort of things to be considering - if that makes sense. It's also added to my friends list!!
....but even so , it will be fun to get back to your usual variety of posts!

Date: 2004-06-01 05:39 pm (UTC)Where's the option for "whichever one you decide upon will be just fine"? I need to re-read all of them.
I still have some time-turner comments to make, but I'll probably get to them eventually in my own journal.

Date: 2004-06-01 08:58 pm (UTC)So ... now that you're done, can I bug you for an Amiu article for the ConScript Directory? Someone on ZBB was asking some questions about logographies recently and it reminded me that I don't have one yet.
