I've seen a couple of people linking to the Salon article reporting the rumors that during last week's debate, Bush was being fed lines by a prompter.
Now Mark Lieberman of
languagelog (which has had several recent entries discussing the speech patterns of the candidates) analyzes the evidence in what seems to me to be a scientific and unbiased way.
On to a less bizarre subject. I'm very happy with the ficlets I received for the first lines meme. You guys are great!
fernwithy wrote Buffy fic.
atdelphi wrote Peter/Filch.
fabu wrote PotC fic.
_hannelore wrote Ron & Neville.
thepiratequeen wrote Neville & Harry.
gracefulfool wrote Hermione & Ron.
malograntum wrote Percy & Wormtail.
keladryb wrote Toby/Danny (West Wing).
gaeta wrote Peter/Remus and attempted to outdo me in the squick department. What say you, did she succeed? *g*
Is it just me, or have memes been unusually entertaining lately? More fun and participatory, less random waste of time.
