I made a couple of attempts at illustrating [livejournal.com profile] lizbee's wonderful Lily/Snape novel-in-progress "There Is No Such Place", but it wasn't really happening. I don't have a clear enough mental picture of Lily to make it work yet.

So instead, I wrote a song. It could be what Snape plays the first time they go to the music room, though it doesn't really match the description... I just tried to express the feeling I got from that part of the story.

.mp3 of "No Such Place" - 2.6MB

The sound quality isn't ideal... I need to get some better speakers if I want to be able to fix it up any better. I think a trip to Radio Shack is in order.

Thank you. :) I don't write music very often... it doesn't come as easily as storywriting. I've still got a whole lot to learn about the process.

Wow, you *are* multi-talented! And that is just beautiful!

*ponders how she might go about getting a theme song for Eschaton, because why should Lizbee be the only BNF with a song? ;-)*

Seriously - lovely work. It's very evocative and passionate, without being overwhelming. Beautiful.

A song for "Eschaton"? Hm, that's not out of the question... I do enjoy what you've done with those characters. I'd never have thought Knowle Roher could be anything more than a mis-used plot device with a funny name, but you certainly proved me wrong. I'll try to work on something for you. :)

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! I'm flattered beyond belief, but dammit, I can't hear it! ::crosses fingers, prays that [livejournal.com profile] melwil's dad has fixed her soundcard when she gets home.

Even without hearing it, I have to say thank you so much. I'm without words. I've never been one of those authors with legions of fans writing companion fics and drawing fan art. (Though [livejournal.com profile] flourish once did a Lily pic for me -- must post that, one day. Have been meaning to ask permission for ages.) Oh, I'm so flattered. I'm about to go into Gwyneth!mode. Thank you.

You're quite welcome. Here's hoping you can resuscitate your sound card... Think of it this way - maybe by the time you fix it, I'll have managed a better recording. ;)

Hi. I wandered over from a link in [livejournal.com profile] lizbee's journal.

I just thought I'd say (in case you had any doubt), this is absolutely wonderful! So, so beautiful!

Thanks! I'm actually a big fan of your writing, too. "The Songless Throat" is fall-on-your-face gorgeous, one of my favorite fics... I'd been meaning to write to you about it for quite a while, but you know how work piles up. Better late than never? ::sheepish::

*laughs* I can totally identify with the work-piling-up problem. Thanks for the compliment!

I've said it before, and I'm sticking to it. I really enjoy your music-posts! The song is wonderful! Skills you have, I know. But do you have any more music-posts back in the days of before-I-friended-you?

Thank you! There's one more I can think of that you may not have seen, but I've widened the filters so you can take a look now if you like. It's here.
