...or, random links.

Political.

Young John Kerry in Doonesbury. Three strips from October 1971. Very cool. Gacked from [livejournal.com profile] malograntum.

Slap the Candidate. Still fuming over "hiring people illegally is against the law"? Need some wood? Slap a candidate of your choice!

How Leftist is LJ? Answer: Very. The most interesting/scary part is the reasons people are giving for their votes.

Good To Be In DC RPG. This is funny on multiple levels.

Ew.

Gallery of Regrettable Food. You'll do spit-takes! You'll weep with laughter! You'll feel vaguely nauseated!

Disturbing Auctions. Truly. No false advertising here.

Neat.

Sleeping Dino Assumed Birdlike Pose. At Scientific American, gacked from [livejournal.com profile] sedesdraconis.

I'd seen the "You're really clicking tonight, you gorgeous preppie!" panel from a CNN documentary on Kerry, but not the entire ouevre - thanks! Is it silly to feel a chill at the sight of a young, unmaimed and innocent BD haranguing Kerry from the audience all those years ago?

I love Gallery of Regrettable Food ("it's Caspar David Friedrich's picnic basket!") and Disturbing Auctions. In fact, someone on my flist is studying art and had to find examples of items which could be unequivocally described as "beautiful" or "ugly". For the latter, I directed her to this little fellow and I believe he did the trick...

"As incongruous as it is stupid" is a phrase I've pulled out on several occasions since seeing that.

Oo, thanks for the Doonesburys. He did the narcissistic left so well! I remember The Fighting Young Priest Who Can Talk to the Young like it was yesteryear!

It's pretty funny, but I wish they'd cover their asses more. I've seen Harry Potter RPG character journals with better disclaimers.

Hahahahaha, yes, he should.

I was actually rather tempted, despite my...conflicting feelings about the existence of this RPG, to sign on as Barack Obama and really kick some ass.

Too late. (http://www.greatestjournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=barack_star</a) There goes the one character that I was tempted by. I suppose it's all for the best.

I may have to change my "no RPG watching" policy. This is damn funny.

Another fun (although somewhat scary) one is The Presidential Horror Picture Show (http://i.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_content/5809/presidential_horror_show.swf).

I'm just saying.

That 'Gallery of Regrettable Food' also has a book. Umm, *looks up link* here (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0609607820/qid=1097839846/sr=2-1/ref=pd_ka_b_2_1/103-7329420-5085427). It is sooooo worth the cost. The funniest book I own. He also has a sequel coming out this month, about the hideous interior designs of 70s style homes.
