To wayfairer: I missed my opportunity in Eo's previous thread to add my thanks to you for your remarkable and thought-provoking post (and indeed, for your entire series of essays about the South); the things you had to say there were probably more familiar to me than to Eo and some other people, but I still see many, if not most, of them from the perspective of an outsider. Reading your own thoughts, and the replies of other folks, helped reassure me that I'm not alone in the ins and outs of my own struggles with my faith (and with how others interpret it). Thanks again.
