There are six possible Marauder ships, of which this is probably the second-least written (Remus/James being the very least, which is fairly understandable because really, what on earth would they have to talk about? Remus/Peter isn't written very often either, though I have seen it a few times; to slash them is appealing on an interesting level, since Remus is narratively-metaphorically queer and Peter is just plain gay [albeit not for Remus specifically]). Of course, if you count threesomes there are ten; foursome makes eleven.

laeri9: Severus Snape/Harry Potter

The first HP slash I read was

resonant8's Snape/Harry fic "The Familiar". Although it is a cracking good story, I wouldn't call it good Snape characterization. I think Snape and Harry are more alike than they know-- or want to know-- and would probably have more fun snarking on other people together than they have hating each other. However, I also think a story long enough to believably take them from their present relationship to a loving romance would be so long as to try my patience.

In the realm plausible of Snarry, non-con and dub-con are my friends.

malograntum: Tim Bayliss/Frank Pembleton (Homicide: Life on the Street)

"You, Tim Bayliss, got a darkness inside you."

Cigarettes. Grilled cheese sandwiches. The way they learned to play off each other in the box. Frank is leaning in with that certain tilt of his head, and Tim is back against the wall with that little smile, and the dumb fuck they like for this doesn't even know they've got him. Doesn't see it before they snap the mousetrap shut.

And you know Tim's in love with Frank and you want to write it, but it's just-- so. Fragile. Savage. Don't wanna screw with it. Look, don't touch.

lycoris: Peter Pettigrew/Harry Potter

Harry Potter thinks this is a story about Harry Potter. Peter Pettigrew knows this is a story about James.

When he says You look just like James, does anyone really not know what he means? We all read the same Pensieve scene, right? Peter loved James, and killed him, and then loved him some more.

Maybe it wasn't supposed to be that way. Maybe V said he just wanted the boy-- kill the Mudblood for good measure-- and then it'd just be James and Peter again. Like before.

He looks at Harry, and don't tell me he doesn't want him.

thepiratequeen: Ron Weasley/Harry Potter

The big ship that wasn't. Hero, best friend, you'd think they'd get slashed six ways from Sunday-- and damn, Harry canonically would miss Ron more than anyone else-- but no, it's very much a second-tier pairing. It's been said that this is because Ron *isn't* the best friend. Hermione is. Ron is the damsel in distress, the one to be saved.

She likes to screw with us, you know. Picture it: End of book seven, Harry's defeated the Dark Forces and lives happily ever after with Ron Weasley, the love of his life.

I wouldn't really put it past her.

maeglinyedi: Harry Potter/Remus Lupin/Sirius Black

Three for two special. My treat.

Harry/Sirius is hot, Harry/Remus is damned hot, and I'm not a huge fan of Remus/Sirius to be honest but nonetheless this OT3 is fairly smoking.

It's Harry's uncomfortable teenaged fantasy that he'd never tell, but fuck it gets him off, and afterwards he lies there panting and wonders if he's sick. Needs a father, needs a brother, needs to wedge himself in between these two men (not boys). Scared of the gentle, careful way Remus would turn him down. Scared of the way Sirius might not.

He needs them both.

He'll never have them.

Scabbers was only Ron's pet for three years, you know. He belonged to Percy a lot longer, knew him when he was an idealistic five-year-old bringing in grubby hurt animals from the garden and asking to keep them.

Percy was never in a position to be told just who he'd been sleeping with. Will he ever find out? Don't you want to be the one to tell him?

C'mon, dudes. You put them alone on a balloon together. I know you want to slash them. This pairing has everything. Friendship. Betrayal. Chanslash. Bestiality. Submission. True love!

malograntum take two: Lex Luthor/Lionel Luthor (Smallville)

Our story so far: Lionel fucks Lex's girlfriend; they break up. Lionel moves in with Lex against his will and pays New Girlfriend $100,000 to break up with Lex. The persistent meddling in his son's sex life is not precisely explained, but Lionel helpfully informs Lex that his goal is to "bury [Lex] and everyone who stands with [him]" so that Lex will have no choice but to look to their future "together".

The incestuous subtext on this show is thick enough to cut with fiery super eye beams, and I'm only halfway through season two.
