Anyway, I just realized I do have an extra email address, since I use YM: pauraqueo at spaaaaamblocker yahoo.com

And Trillian even alerts me when I have new mail, which is awfully nice of it. (I expect Trillian to stop working any minute now.) But anyway, since that's web mail, I'll be able to get it at work and such.


[ETA: I thought I would do a little experiment and see how long it would take a brand new email address to receive spam after I posted it unspamblocked on the internet. It took seven minutes.]

Curse this pesky technology that complicates our lives! I was a bit aghast when Trillian stopped working on me, earlier today, but then that was due to the complete lack of contact with the internet I was having at the time. It's all better now.

To be honest, I don't think posting that address online made much difference - I think it's fair to say definitively that Yahoo sells their email addresses, so you would've got spam anyway. I have an obscure YM-related email, which I have never used for anything ever, and it gets spammed now and then too.
