I have strep throat AGAIN. Cry.

Unrelatedly, I'm thinking about using my DW journal as a friends-locked thing to talk about my imminent process of becoming a step-parent. I don't want to do it here because it would involve creating filters, a process I hate and have always avoided on LJ. But if I did it on DW, people who wanted to read it would have to visit DW to do so, because you can't crosspost to an LJ filter (and hi, I still hate creating filters). You can give access to OpenID accounts, so it's not like anyone would have to actually create a DW account, but they'd have to go to the DW site.

In my mind this doesn't sound too bad, because I feel like only people who actually wanted to read about my personal life (there might be a handful?) would bother, so I would really know who I was talking to, and no one would be spammed who wasn't interested. And omg, this already sounds like some kind of horrible "if you *really* cared you'd come read my other journal", which is not what I mean or believe at all.

In any case, my normal stuff is not going away from LJ.

I shipped some of my books to [livejournal.com profile] _hannelore. This is very exciting! (Yes, me rambling about the minutiae of moving far away is going to carry on until August. I've never moved more than an hour away before, sue me.)

Obviously they're books that I don't read/use all the time, or I wouldn't be sending them so soon, but they're books I care about and want, or they would have gone to the donation pile. So it's meaningful to me, because I r a book geek.

Almost all the little kid books from my kidhood are long gone, but I do have some amount of older-kid and YA books left, the ones I liked. I have to admit it's exciting to think about [livejournal.com profile] _hannelore's son reading them when he gets older. I was keeping them solely because I liked them; I never had aspirations of having kids. But now, with the reality of it, it seems very different from the vague concept of "kids" that didn't interest me at all. Hannelore Jr. is a real human being whom I like. It might be different if I didn't know him, or if he was just a baby.

Life is occasionally interesting. >:D

I:

-got up before noon.
-bought a mop and some other things.
-cleared off the "dining room" table, on which no one ever dines; I use it only for painting and accumulating junk.
-found an unfinished Artistic Work and finished it.
-mopped the kitchen floor. I've never mopped anything before. (Wait, hasn't he lived without his parents for SHUT UP.)
-made the beginning of what I want to be a comprehensive list of things I need to ship to [livejournal.com profile] _hannelore and things I need to get rid of.
-realized I forgot to buy cat litter box liners, and bought them.
-attempted to buy a box in which to ship the first of my books to [livejournal.com profile] _hannelore (!!!) but found the UPS store is closed on Sundays.
-unclogged the kitchen sink.
-realized I forgot to buy lightbulbs.

eta: Ooh. I just realized that you have to pay to access the custom mood theme editor now. I have a mood theme I made years ago and passionately love, but I lost the password to the fotobukkit they're on. Is there some way I can weasel in and access the full chart of images via LJ?
