Claude Debussy sez: If the text of your cut tag is important to the comprehension of your post, you should probably repeat that text under the cut, so that people coming in via a link can understand what you're talking about.

Don't defy Debussy. I mean, look at him. He'd kick your ass.

I don't know, I'm a zillion more times scared of Berlioz than Debussy. Berlioz was hard core.

Point taken, but did Berlioz share Debussy's passion for LiveJournal etiquette?

Berlioz wasn't really an etiquette kind of guy, so... no?

Yeah, I don't think Debussy's music ever incited a riot.

YES. A thousand times, yes. I always repeat my cut tag text. It makes me nuts when people don't. Especially when they do something like this:

"And that got me thinking about (cut tag with their very important thought)."

So that when you come to their journal via a link from somewhere else, you end up with an opening sentence that reads:

"And that got me thinking about ." With no other explanation.

Hate that.

my brain is so old and sieve-like that I need the cut tag text repeated even if I just clicked on it. (as opposed to linking in from elsewhere).

Also, a lot of the time I scroll down my friends page opening interesting-looking posts in separate tabs, and then read all the tabs when I'm done scrolling. So it's not like I'm gonna remember what was on all those cuts I clicked.

Well, I know I'm told, now. Given that I mistook the man for Phineas Nigellus, despite the 'Debussy' label, because I am an uncultured swine.

I just did a whole thing in my head about Debussy going around with a name tag that read SALUT mon nom est Claude because people kept mistaking him for someone else.

This post simply pwns. That is all.

(No, wait. I think Satie is the scariest of your icon composers OPAQUE GLASSES O_O)

Debussy going around with a name tag that read SALUT mon nom est Claude because people kept mistaking him for someone else.

Saint-Saens could wear one and it could say SALUT mon nom est Camille et je suis elite and then they could chat and that would be liek teh AWESOME.
