This is nothing I didn't already know, but it was kind of nice to have it re-confirmed, since I spend so much time at work pretending to be an INTJ. Playing the NT Rational gets the job done, but it's not me. Being a hardass gets people's attention, but it's isolating, too. NF Idealists don't like that.

shadowluck and I spent some time talking about HP characters' personality types last night. Harry is an ISTP. Peter is pretty obviously an ISFJ.

Snape is hard to get a read on because he does the same thing I do -- pretends to have personality traits that aren't natural to him. He probably imagines himself to be an ISTJ, though he's definitely an IF. Perhaps an INFJ?

I usually get too close to differentiate between "E" (Extroverted) and "I" (Introverted) nowadays. Used to be that I got a solid "I" every time when in school (the first time around, 10 years ago), but lately I get E more often than not.

I would have pegged Snape as an INTJ (http://www.typelogic.com/intj.html), what with his rigidity, intellectual superiority, and lack of social skills, even though he's emotionally outspoken for a T.

But you're right, he might be an INFJ (http://www.typelogic.com/infj.html), just an extraordinarily bad tempered one.
