I'm sick again, so I didn't go out. _hannelore's kidlet was also sick, so we consoled ourselves by doing the in-game WoW new year festivities.

There were quite a few special buffs, one of which was a Festive Beverage that made you "lightheaded" for thirty seconds. I thought this might be a slow-fall effect, which we tested by jumping off the Thunder Bluff flight tower.



Video clip (15MB). _hannelore jumps off, I record from far below. She floats down gracefully, and we are pleased with ourselves. :D

There were supposed to be hourly fireworks in Thunder Bluff, Stormwind, and Booty Bay. We couldn't see them from BB, I don't know what was up with that. (All we saw there was a surprisingly large inter-faction clothing-optional dance party.) But everything was clear as a bell in TB.

Hee, my first true glimpse into the world of WoW! :O (So many little buttons!) It is so cute that there are in-game festivities and fireworks and things. :D

I guess it is a lot of buttons, but it doesn't seem like a lot, since you get to decide what buttons go where. You gradually attain more and more buttons as you get more stuff. :D

Well, you could have underwater duels IRL. You'd just have a harder time rezzing when you drown.
