I like Ron with the house-elves, since he's the only Trio member who doesn't appear to have an agenda. Hermione wants to further their (or her) cause, whether they want help or not; and Harry's quick to use them (like most people) for his own ends (which is also a nice parallel with him taking advantage of Slughorn's drunkeness) both here and in HBP; whereas Ron immediately grasps Winky's feelings - 'she seems to love (Crouch)', for example.
