I suppose. But then the narrative puts the blame on Snape, and Harry to a lesser extent as the younger; being unable to overcome a long-running enmity rather than that particular situation (does Dumbledore even know that Harry looked into Snape's pensieve?) And being bad at Occlumency appears to be considered a strength of character, based on JKR's statements (of course, authorial interviews aren't canon; imho.)
