Radiohead's Karma Police arranged for piano (2.5mb, mp3 format).

You'd sing with this. I'm not good at singing, myself, so you'll have to use your imagination. If the YSI runs out, let me know. Yes, I know my piano needs tuning.

I can read standard music notation, but I don't usually use it when I'm arranging something. This is what I'm reading from:

It's not even in chronological order, which you might think would make it difficult to read, but it doesn't bother me.

I've been working on Jingree more than usual lately. One of my projects is the Luen calendar. For example, here's a segment of the year known as 'stag earthquake':

If I were to do the whole year this way, I'd end up with twenty pieces, so I dunno about that. My hand might fall off from the inking. I am working on the next one in line, though:

Not finished.

I should maybe add that I'm aware I'm kind of mediocre at everything creative that isn't pornographic drabbles fiction writing, but it doesn't really bother me that much. I can enjoy things while not being above-average at doing them.

I worship Radiohead! This is so cool. I think you should do more. I'm a singer, so I'll be singing along to it. I've listed it in iTunes as 'pauraque' under the album ;-)

I'm not on the computer with speakers but the calendars are beautiful. Really gorgeous.

Ooh I love that calendar piece and the clothesline-horizon thing that is going on in the illustrations. And the spiral-y numbers!

clothesline-horizon

Is that what it's called? I didn't know. :)

Well, I wouldn't say it's a technical term, but whenever I hear someone counsiling a naive artist, it's all "everyone's walking on a clothesline! You need to learn perspective!" So I tend to call it the clothesline.

I swear one of these days I'm gonna write a drabble of the way your out-of-tune piano makes me feel. It's a memorable melancholia that I can't quite explain.

Hey, none of that! I think your alternate lanaguge is positivley awe-inspiring, and I wish I knew half as much about linguistics. And your piano rendition of Sail To The Moon is well-played on my iPod because I love singing along. I'd d/l Karma Police if I could, and may possibly request it from you when I get my computer back.

You're anything but mediocre at creative pursuits outside porn/fic. You have so many different talents... but whatever you think of your level of talent, it's definitely good that you're continuing to pursue these creative avenues for the joy of doing it. Practice always brings experience and a refinement of talent.

And I've found that all the various talents one has eventually come into play in the larger scheme of things as your life progresses. So think of yourself as preparing for some use of all this creativity farther down the line, even if you don't have a clue what that might be at the moment. :-)

Bow and I are listening to this is my kitchen- it's wonderful! It's so good to hear you play.

And you should totally publish the Jingree book someday. I'm sure it has an audience.

Bow says: Hm. Hellooo. She'll call you.
