Peter/Ron rec! :: Anti-work icons.

As many of you know, I think Peter/Ron is an unfairly neglected pairing, so I was thrilled to hear that lycoris was working on a Peter/Ron fic. (She herself seemed quite traumatized by the prospect, but *I* was pleased. *g*)

"In the Still of the Night" [NC-17, Peter/Ron, Peter/Percy] was posted today, and I'm happy to say that it's a wonderfully disturbing tale after my own twisted heart. Peter is spot-on, his internal voice so defensively innocent, so good at justifying wrong. No moral compass whatsoever, only can I get away with it? I adore how creepy he is in this fic... that combination of love and muffled aggression, submission and dominance. Just as it should be.

As lycoris duly notes, this story has non-con somnophilia chan, which in mundane-speak is sex with an unsuspecting underage boy while he's sleeping. (This is the type of sentence you find yourself writing when you don't keep a separate journal for RL. *shakes head*)

There are a couple of destructive memes going around.

If you see a form written in Russian with a bunch of usernames, don't put in yours.

If you see a post with nothing but a link that says "This is very interesting", don't click it.

These memes exploit a hole in LJ security and automatically post to your journal. There's some discussion on closing the hole in lj_dev here.

If one of these memes already got you, clear your cookies and change your password.

-I haven't been able to confirm this, but word is that people who clicked on the "This is very interesting" link, in addition to incurring an unauthorized post on their journal, may have been infected with a Trojan virus. I don't want to freak people out, since I don't know much about what's going on yet, but if you did click the link, it wouldn't hurt to run your anti-virus software.

-If you have an unauthorized post that you can't delete from the web interface, try deleting it with the Semagic LJ client; some users have had better luck that way.


For those just joining us: There's a security hole in the LJ system that's allowing unauthorized automatic posts. Until it's resolved, don't click on any suspicious links or forms you might see on your friends-list.
