These are from the "pimp yourself" meme. Subjective selections, of course. Thanks to all the brave souls who offered their work.

'The Devil is a Liar' (NC-17, Percy/Flint, Flint/Wood) by [livejournal.com profile] millefiori
Simply delightful. Fresh, engaging characterizations of Percy and Flint (and that's not something I find myself saying very often), dirty, realistic sex, fast pace, good writing, just enough humor... It's great. Highly recommended, even if you think you don't like Flint.

And who wouldn't be out of sorts after witnessing a scene like that? It was disgusting. Yes, he was disgusted. Sickened. Revolted. Thank heavens Penny hadn't had to see it.

'Skin Memory' (PG-13, Lucius/Remus) by [livejournal.com profile] glitterdemon
The premise of this short piece is chilling and intriguing (I won't spoil it), but the highlight is the seemingly effortless lyricism, smoky and bitter and drawing you in.

...still at the table in the kitchen, back bent under the pipe smoke murking through the low light of the fire. He stills the quill in his hand and gives a sidelong look, eyes narrow and dangerous alleys.

'Cartography' (PG, Padma/Hermione) by [livejournal.com profile] pogrebin
Mm, post-war fic without any of the post-war clichés. Breathless and desperate, painfully real.

Ten years after the war and England’s ley lines are still snapping, and you can’t do magic unless you want to blast your fingers off.

PotC

'Forsaking All Others' (PG-13, Jack/Black Pearl) by [livejournal.com profile] fabu
Yes, really. What struck me is that this is excellent fanfic -- it adds an entire layer to canon, casts the story and the characters in a different (scarier) light. And I love the way Melusina writes Bill; he thinks like a period character.

"Well, then, no time like the present, eh? Let's get started." Jack opened the rum and poured out a liberal helping on the deck. He took a swig himself and passed the bottle to Bill. Bill upturned the bottle and drank deeply. Chances were good he'd need a little Dutch courage tonight.

Friendly Reminder

If you like any of these stories, tell the authors so. They want to hear it, I promise you.
