December is annoying at work. Besides the long hours, one of the head honchos just became a father and is going nuts, and then the company owner is spazzing out even more than usual because the economy has her all freaked out.
I don't dislike the owner, but I have the damndest time communicating with her. Every time she talks she just you know... trails off... and never really finishes... you know...? And then expects me to understand whatever point was in her head. It really gets old.
I tried to take the night off WoW because RL has me tired, and I wasn't that enthused, and we had too many people signed up anyway. I was looking forward to a quiet evening. Of course then I got a text at work from a guildie saying his computer exploded and could I please take his place tonight? Sigh.
Then I had to duck out of work a bit early to make that happen -- with the holiday overtime I can BARELY make it home in time for guild events if I hurry. This isn't really a problem because I'm the last person there, and the schedule allows me 30 minutes to close the store but I can do it in 15. But really I had been planning to use the whole 30 to get some other stuff done, because it's damn hard to do any kind of merchandising or inventorying with mobs of customers around. But as I was hurrying to leave, just as I closed the door I heard the phone ring inside, which was almost certainly Owner calling... and it was too late to get back inside to answer it because the alarm was already set, and once you set it you can't go back in for 45 seconds. I'm sure I will hear something tomorrow about how I didn't answer the phone when I was supposed to be there. Gragh.
Oh well. It'll be January soon enough.
