things and stuff

Thank you for the birthday wishes! It was indeed my birthday, like two weeks ago, and a lot of people remembered but then I failed to acknowledge them. Needs more social skills. But yes, I had a good birthday. I'm 30, which is absurd, but I guess if you look at me from outside my brain, I make a plausible adult.

Kid just started fourth grade, so it's time to get up early again! I am severely not a morning person, but I admit it can be kind of nice once you've gotten up early, feeling like there's more time in the day. I mean, I've already checked my email, done my laundry, and been to the store, and it's not even 10! I don't even get up before 10 if I don't have to.

Of course, there isn't actually more time in the day, because to get up in time to take the kid to school, I have to go to bed at like 10:30, but hey.

It's getting a little frightening how many friends my age are parents now. Of course I got a head start by being a step-parent and skipping the baby part, but now people are having actual babies! Three long-time friends have had babies in just the past year or so, and another two are pregnant. Totally can't wrap my mind around this, because aren't we all in like, high school still? No? You sure? I thought we were...
