And Anthony Stewart Head just confirmed his role today as well.

When I first heard about this, it was emphatically not the Sondheim version. Now it is. Can any of these people actually sing? (Besides ASH, of course.)

Johnny Depp can sing. He's a rock star.

Yeah, but Sweeney Todd is a very demanding, almost operatic role. And I would imagine Johnny Depp has maybe a higher voice than the role usually calls for?

Oh, well, it's Tim and Johnny and Alan and Tony; I'll probably see it no matter what. *g*

I. . . uh. . . wha. . . I. . .

(I knew about the Depp casting, too. But, uh.)

We just have to keep reminding ourselves that this is, after all, Hollywood. These are the people who thought, "Hey, let's make a movie of Guys and Dolls where we've got Frank Sinatra right there in the movie and not have him play Sky Masterson. Instead, let's have a dude who totally can't sing! Yeah, that's the ticket! Oh, and let's make it really boring."

Yeah, but at least Marlon Brando looked right for Sky Masterson. Hot or what!! Whereas Johnny won't look or sound right for Sweeney. Honestly, what's with Hollywood taking the roles meant for middle-aged/older men who can sing and giving them to young men who can't? First Gerard Butler as the Phantom, now this...

And I know he's 80 but I wish Chris Lee would play the Judge, simply because that man has a heck of a basso voice on him.

And, Helena Bonham-Carter as Nellie Lovett?! That's WORSE.

The idea of Laura Michelle Kelly as Johanna is a terrific one, though - saw her in her first role as Eliza in a production of MY FAIR LADY in London, and when she began to sing the auditorium was alive with the sound of rustling programmes in a collective "Who IS that?!?" I've heard that the film plans to drop her first number Green Finch and Linnet Bird - if that rumour's true, it would make me sad to think of such a great voice having less exposure than it deserves.

Seriously, you don't know how much money I would pay to see Alan Rickman whipping himself to orgasm.

...that probably says something deep and scary about my psyche. :D

Not to forget that it's directed by Tim Burton, which will probably lead me not to go see it in theaters, no matter the plotline/acting/eyecandy =x *ducks vegetation thrown by fangirls*

Let me try to answer this before you make pauraque cry. First, he doesn't moderate pornish pixies anymore. Second, as I understand it, pornish pixies is by invitation only. That means don't contact them, they'll contact you.

Bow calls from other room: "Are you serious? Where are you getting this?" Rat responds, as if that settled the question, "___'s journal." Bow laughs: "What's ___'s take on it?" Rat: "Ahahaha. Aha. Haaa. *headdesk*"
