My boss is sick this week; she apparently has either food poisoning or a stomach virus. She finds it necessary to call me and update me on the status of her vomiting and... other things. I feel very sorry for her, but that doesn't mean I actually want to hear about it. "Too sick to come to work, with disgusting symptoms" would more than cover it for me.

On the plus side, the minion who could not learn my name has finally learned it!




A one percent wipe.

If I could sort of learn to pronounce pauraque, I should hope the minion could learn your name!

She knew my name at first, then started calling me Joe, which I didn't really object to since I supposed it was sort of a nickname, then started calling me Joel which really isn't my name by any stretch. It's kind of hard to know what to say when someone spontaneously starts calling you the wrong name, actually.

It's like she was trying to train you into a different name.

There's a guy I used to work with who a few years ago started calling me "Theresa" when he came to visit. I just go with it. If I ever need a fake name I'll probably use Theresa now.
