My cat seems to be better. A while ago she had an eye infection and was losing weight precipitously. I took her in and they gave her antibiotics, but said her blood tests showed no abnormalities and the vet had "no idea" why she was losing weight. Her tests made her look like a normal cat who was very skinny. Which would be fine except for her entire life up until now, she was a normal cat who was very fat. Yes, old cats get skinny and bony, but all of a sudden?
So I waited, and she stopped losing weight and appears to have gained a little back.
This doesn't answer the question of what I'm going to do when I move across the country and can't take my completely antisocial cat with me. I don't think many people want an old cat that bites and pukes a lot.
