Down Among the Dead Men (NC-17, Filch/Filch) byatdelphi
There were a lot of good entries for the Doppelganger Challenge, but this was easily my favorite. No one writes Filch like Delphi, looks at him and into him so mercilessly. The figurative structure here... abuse and self-abuse, but that's only part of it. There's so much in this fic, I almost want to write a whole essay on all the levels it visits so effortlessly, weaves together into one dark and tangled whole. Jesus, I can't figure out how to say how much I liked this fic. Just try it, okay? It’s been an age since he’s come down this way. During the term, muddy feet run in the other direction and sticky fingers don’t give any classroom window a moment’s rest. The air is stale and still down here and, shut up against the draught...

I was going to rec this as soon as I read it. That was before it attracted 200 comments, of course, but that's no reason not to rec something, is it? On the off-chance that you haven't read this fic, it's fantastic. If you don't usually like R/S, fear not -- it suffers from none of the usual clichés. But if you do like brilliantly kinky fic with a lot of dirty talk *cough*, then clickety-click! 'I swear, sometimes I think you want that thing more than you want me.'
Something for everyone there, I reckon. Don't forget to feed the authors!
