I got a voicemail from her today telling me that the last time I closed, I forgot to print the itemized credit card report before letting it settle. That is, we got the money, but didn't have the backup report with all the numbers and times, just the slips that printed when the transactions happened. Of course I should have printed it -- that's not in question. I always do, but got distracted or something and forgot this time.
My issue is that when something like that happens, she seems to want an EXPLANATION. There is no explanation -- I forgot one time. Humans forget things. I would gladly have accepted "You forgot this, it was a bad thing, make sure you do not forget again in the future". But I do not need a voice mail about it that is so long my phone eventually cut her off. I wonder how long she kept talking after it stopped recording.
"So you didn't do it and you were supposed to do it it's really important what if we need to change something and the slip got lost yeah you need to always do it you have to press report and then the date do you know you have to do it? do you know how? because you didn't do it you have to actually press the report button or it doesn't print it only printed the settlement summary with just the totals and you have to print the whole report" ET CETERA
I am truly amazed that she actually asked me if I knew how to run the report. I've been printing it daily for... six months? But no, I never knew how to print it, Boss. All those other times I printed it? I was just POUNDING MY FIST ON THE FUCKING CREDIT MACHINE UNTIL IT PRINTED SOMETHING.
And it bugs me because she likes to say that the people around her don't take responsibility for their mistakes. I really don't think this is true of me, when I'm wrong I am happy to say "I was wrong, I see how I fucked it up, I won't do it again". But she seems to want something more, and I don't know what. I truly don't understand what more can be said about a mistake like this, which is clearly no more than a brain fart, and not a pattern of laziness or ignorance.

Heh, so I just saw the news post that they want to do the Deathly Hallows movie in two parts. Gosh there's just so much to fit in! All that... camping...
