I have mixed feelings about the Time Turner device, which I agree can't make sense. Not to mention, once the Shrieking Shack scene is over the story has already peaked, and the longish sequence after that is a bit exhausting. I do, however, like the image of Harry's encounter with himself -- the Harry=James imagery.
