Icons for the movie "If..." (which should be seen by anyone with an interest in British boarding schools and the gayness thereof). I wanted to do more, but I figure if I want decent screen caps, I'll have to wait until October, when the DVD is supposed to come out.

Feel free to use these.

Nope, haven't seen that one. I'd heard of the play, but I didn't know it was a movie. Thanks for the rec; I'll look for it. :)

Is this the movie that ends in a massacre in the school quad?

I vaguely remember seeing it and not understanding it at all, but I think I was 12.

Yes, that's the one. It starts off fairly straightforward, and gradually incorporates more and more non-literal imagery. By the time of the massacre, it's firmly in surrealist territory. I doubt I would have understood it when I was 12 either.

I revisted your user info page out of my own curiosity to see why I friended you. It's very clear. You combine interest in HP & fanfic with:

Gilbert and Sullivan
Shakespeare
The West Wing

You live and study in Berkeley, where I lived and studied for nigh on 10 years.

And when something (probably your cute rat icon) made me check out your log, the first thing I saw were these supercool "If" icons. Young Malcolm...aw! ::licks ratty lips::

I feel a multi-fandom crossover musical coming on! ;)

Cool to meet another Gilbert & Sullivan fan... When you lived in Berkeley, did you go see the Lamplighters Music Theater? I'm heading over there this Saturday for "Iolanthe" (a favorite of mine).

I love Iolanthe! Maybe my favorite of all.

3 way crossover - hee! Iolanthe would make the perfect vehicle: the characters from The West Wing can be the Peers and the characters from HP can be the Fairies.:D:D Or vice versa.
