This may not be as bad as it sounds, as Slytherin has been a very winning team for some years -- there's a natural tendency to support the underdog.
That, and Slytherins have a nasty tendency to be an asshat to anybody who doesn't wear silver and green. (Although they don't seem to bother Ravenclaws much, do they? Nobody really does...O_o) I have nothing against Slyths, of course; it's just something that seems to be in their character.
Brancing off of the above question: has anybody noticed that nobody seems to fuss about Ravenclaw? I'm a professor and HOH for Ravenclaw at HU, and, while many students/role-players ask not to be put into Gryffindor or Slytherin or Hufflepuff, nobody mentions Ravenclaw. In fact, I recall just one student mentioning Ravvies in their sorting post, and that was to talk to the hat about their ancestry.
Could it be because intelligence is neither a desirable nor hated trait in the wizarding world? Or do Ravenclaws really receive less canonical attention than Hufflepuffs? I thought they were about the same...
