[livejournal.com profile] sedesdraconis notifies us of the fact that ever since the Washington Redskins football team has existed, its last home game before a presidential election has successfully predicted the outcome of that election. If they win, the incumbent (or sitting vice-president) wins. If they lose, the challenger wins.

The Redskins' last home game before the election is today, and they're in the third quarter against the Packers, Green Bay leading 20-7. You can keep track of the score here.

First the Patriots win the Superbowl, then the Red Sox take the World Series... oh boy oh boy!

[Final score: Packers win 28-14!]

Also, I'm in need of a new ISP. I currently have AOL DSL, but their impossible customer service has driven me batty. What should I switch to? 1) Cheapness and 2) not requiring new hardware, are my primary concerns.

I've been with DSL Extreme, and am very happy both with the service and the pricing. Try them at - http://dslextreme.com

I've had SBC DSL for a short time and have been happy with it so far. I started out way back in the day with Prodigy dial up as a package with my regular phone bill and inheirited SBC when they bought Prodigy out. I did have to get a new modem when I got DSL, but it was free so all I paid for was shipping. I don't have a whole lot of experience with their customer service but they've always been pretty nice, and managed to resolve whatever issue I was having fairly quickly.

This site http://www.dslreports.com/ has a service where you can type in your address and it shows you a comparison of all the DSL providers that service it, with prices and stuff.

I'm using SBC DSL as well and haven't had any problems. They're currently running a special of $26.95/month if you sign up for a year.
