FIC recs:

Remittance Man (NC-17, Sirius/Regulus) by tekalynn
What makes this fic special is the killer characterizations. There is eventually pr0n, but the greater part of the story is given over to Sirius and Regulus just sitting and drinking and talking, and sounding just like you know they should. Teka makes it look easy.

Sirius leaned back, swirling the red wine in his glass, legs crossed, that smile on his face. Regulus was always unnerved by that look, as it spelled trouble. It wasn't at all a menacing smile, it was actually quite sweet. Dazzling. The smile that said "Sit back, I'll take care of it all. Don't worry. I've got it in hand." And worst of all, "Trust me."


Year of the Dragon (NC-17, Ron/Oliver, Ron/Bill/Charlie) by fluffyllama
This is Llama's ongoing NaNoWriMo novel, and I think it's a friend-and-be-friended situation. So far, it's sort of a post-war angsty bitter incestuous dreamy flashbacky sex romp. And this is just the way I like my Ron characterization. Good stuff.


Heh, I didn't mean to rec two incest fics in a row, it just happened that way. Incest is the new slash!

I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and it doesn't disappoint. His expression is just right, and I love that hand! Carrot's art is, as usual, delightful.

The hardest thing, actually, was to get them to shut up and screw already, since it was an NC-17 request fic. I told morgan_d that I thought the boys really wanted it to be a gen fic, but she said she saw quite a lot of sexual undertone and that in her opinion the guys were ready to jump each other any time. So I said "Cool," and then figured out a way for them to actually do it without snarking each other to death in the process.

As for the dialogue, I just sat back and let them yammer at each other. I had no idea what they'd come up with until they said it. Sarcastic little bastards.

I agree with Morgan, there's a lot of sexual tension in their banter, in the jealous/admiring way Regulus looks at Sirius. It works. *g*

I do love Llama's NaNo fic so I was going to say "word", but OMG do I love the icon. The day after the election I was already slashing those two. I mean how pretty is that thought?
