First. I call your attention to my new icon. [livejournal.com profile] alejandradd made it from this delicious crax. All hail.

Second. After the birthday discussion, [livejournal.com profile] tourniquette99 put up a poll on astrology in HP.

Third. Last night I re-read [livejournal.com profile] amanuensis1's A Spell To Turn Tigers To Butter (NC-17), and afterwards had a dream related to it. Lucius was there. Amy was too! Not entirely sure of the details.

Fourth. I'm starting to re-read OotP -- just a quick go-over so that it's fresh in my mind for July -- and it strikes me how talky the first few chapters are. So much dialogue, both exposition and cutesy character establishment. There are things I love about the beginning of this book -- the exchanges between Harry and Dudley, the whole world-collision sequence with the Dursleys -- but it does take its time getting to the part where things actually happen. I still don't like Tonks: Too cute, too little to do. Lupin, though? Love him in this book. His entrance made me feel all fuzzy.

Fifth. I've finally caught up on Lost. I powered through the last two eps of the season tonight, which made three straight hours of TV, but once I started I couldn't stop. *woozy* When I was a kid, I could watch TV all day, but those days are ooooover. Hurley is my hero.

That is all.

We're still giggling over Hurley's panic attack when he saw the numbers. Absolutely precious!

You dreamt about a fic of mine??

Wow. I don't think I've ever been so proud of anything.

You know, I've been miserably remiss in telling you how much I love your fics. They get in my brain, man! In a very good way. *g*

I dunno if you know this, but there's [livejournal.com profile] a_chapter_a_day and we're currently on Ch. 5 of OotP.

:)

I did know that, actually! Hopefully I can stay caught up and maybe participate if I have time.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the way they handled Hurley. I loved him from the beginning and when they finally gave him a storyline it was the best one! Don't blow it up! The numbers are bad!

I remember even the first time in OotP feeling it was taking an awfully long time to just get to school, what with all the cleaning and all. I just found Tonks' intro awkward too, like something out of a sitcom pilot to show you who this person is.

I really liked that when Hurley's told he has to buy a second plane ticket, it wasn't played against him for a cheap laugh.

Tonks is continuing to annoy me as I read on... She has quite a lot of dialogue, mostly unnecessary. There are so many important characters in play already -- the kids, Sirius, Remus, Arthur, Molly -- that it just feels like Tonks is taking up "screen time".

ITA about Hurley. That really shocked me because how many people would have been able to cough up the money for a second ticket from Australia to the US? Those things are expensive! And yet I can also understand that with the size of airplane seats, it's really impractical to pretend a guy Hurley's size can fit in just one.

Great icon! I'd like to think Clark is dancing to the same song he's singing in my icon.
