I currently possess no hats, but feel much the same way.
I half-expect to see him show up in some way or another, but probably not anything I might have anticipated in advance. But whether he does or not, he'll still be dead.
(Happily also still spoiler-free, although boy am I glad that I stopped reading my HP Communities flist filter yesterday... just in time, apparently.)
Gah! Sorry I didn't respond to your IM, I totally was here, but I haven't rebooted my computer in a month and a half so it keeps refusing to blink when I get a new IM window... Maybe I should reboot... but I have so many windows open!
