One of the anonymous participants in [livejournal.com profile] fanart_fairy drew me an adorable piece of art (PG-13, worksafe) based on Moving Pictures (NC-17, Sirius/James). I have to say, I'm touched. What a nice thing to get for Christmas.

Speaking of gifts, [livejournal.com profile] asphodeline, we got your package, thank you! We've been enjoying the chocolate, but we need guidance on the Christmas pudding. It has instructions for steaming it, boiling it, and microwaving it; which should we do? I've never had one!

If you like it I can send you a larger pudding!! I would boil it and it shouldn't take long. Second choice - stema and thridly microwave although I suspect microwaving would be as good.

We eat ours with a brandy butter or thick, double cream - yummy!!!! Have fun!!

And I can vouch for the fact that microwaving works just fine, provided that the pudding is moist and rich enough. I did one that way yesterday - too lazy to wait the extra hour to steam it!

Brandy butter is a very excellent addition to the feast. Other traditional additions are cream (single or double, according to preference) or custard. Mine yesterday was brandy and vanilla custard... mmmmmm.

And no, even though there'll probably be brandy in the pudding as well, you can never apply too much of it to the pudding eating experience. Pouring brandy over the upturned pudding and setting fire to it before serving it out is entirely optional though. If you're a first-timer I recommend you skip that bit!

Okay, that was such an adorable picture I had to read the story immediately and I liked it even more than the picture. I LOVED IT! First I just liked the easy friendship between James and Sirius, and I could totally imagine how Sirius felt living with the Potters as a guest and yet not a guest--he's so different from Harry living at the Weasleys because of who he is.

But then, ack! The slide into slash was just so strangely believable--I think my favorite line was, "Oh, now you're just stalling" It's that perfect balance of "this is perfectly normal" with the hint of something more underneath that makes you see why this is the most important relationship in Sirius and James' life. Okay, maybe James' life isn't as canon, but I still believe it. Go you!

p.s. When Sirius tucked his hair behind his ear for some reason that was the sexiest moment for me. Just thought I'd share.

"Believable" is one of my favorite words to hear in feedback. Especially since slashers may start at a bit of a disadvantage in that department!

I'm really happy you liked it. Thank you. :)
